The schemes
- Math(s) Foundations β a transitional scheme for early learners. It uses ordinary UEB numbers (no dropped numbers), introduces operations as words first ("1 plus 1 is 2"), and then borrows the single-cell Nemeth operators β ¬ and β € and the Nemeth equals β ¨β
because they are tactually distinct. It is a stepping stone, not a standard code: a child moving on to UEB or Nemeth will relearn the operators.

- Nemeth Tutorial β Nemeth digits in the lower cells, operators, fractions, the English letter indicator, superscripts.

Spacing follows the usual teaching convention: no space around + and β, a space each side of =
Activities
- Flashcards β the expression is shown and spoken; the learner brailles it. After two misses the answer is shown and spoken with its dot numbers.
- Listen & Type β the expression is only spoken, using its spoken form ("x squared", "one half"). R repeats it.
- Transcription β the expression is shown; each cell is judged as it is typed. After three wrong tries on one cell, that cell is given.
- Missing Dot β needs single-cell signs with two or more dots (operators, fraction line, radical). Number levels have none; the card says how many items qualify.
- Simon Says β a spoken sequence, one longer each round.
- Balance Beam and Falling Equations β sums made up by the app (numbers 1 to 4); the answer is a single number. Only the digit form comes from the scheme: Nemeth schemes use lower-cell digits, everything else UEB digits.
How typed cells are spoken
After a number sign, cells are read as digits (UEB upper cells or Nemeth lower cells). In Nemeth, numeric mode continues through + β and the fraction line, so "β Όβ β ¬β " is read "number sign, one, plus, two". Two-cell UEB signs (dot 5 then β ) are named once, as "plus". Anything else is read by dot numbers
Voice and screen readers
In Screen reader mode the app is silent and sends the same text to your screen reader. When an activity starts, focus moves into it so that S D F J K L reach the app
Editing a level
Settings β Edit this level. Give any expression whose print would be read badly a spoken form (for example "the square root of nine"). Edits are saved for that level only, in this browser
